چکیده
The nonlinear dynamic analysis of imperfect hemispherical shell under pressure was executed. finite element model hemisphere in the software NASTRAN built. wall form three-cornered and four-cornered net presented. Shape imperfection as a lower buckling (Buckling) perfect action static modelled. Value amplitude set proportionally to thickness. Two boundary conditions rigid hinged supports on nodes edge were considered. Radiative transfer in a semitransparent hemispherical shell
Radiative transfer in a semitransparent hemispherical shell placed on an opaque surface is simple yet realistic representation of the heating process encountered in various materials processing applications ranging from metallurgical slag foaming to batch foams in glass melting to hollow bead fabrication. The objective of this paper is to develop fundamental understanding and predictive models ...
متن کاملThermoelastic Damping of Inextensional Hemispherical Shell
In this work, thermoelastic damping effect on the hemispherical shells is investigated. The material is selected silicon, and heat conduction equation for thermal flow is solved to obtain the temperature profile in which bending approximation with inextensional assumption of the model. Using the temperature profile, eigen-value analysis is performed to get the natural frequencies of hemispheric...
متن کاملImperfections and Energy Barriers in Shell Buckling
The elastic buckling of shell structures such as spherical shells subject to external pressure and cylindrical shells loaded in axial compression is highly sensitive to imperfections and often catastrophic. Recent studies of spherical shells have provided accurate quantitative results for the relation between the buckling pressure and the amplitude and shape of geometric imperfections and, addi...
متن کاملSpace-laboratory and numerical simulations of thermal convection in a rotating hemispherical shell with radial gravity
The Sun and the giant planets rotate and possess deep shells of convection. Some basic aspects of prototypical global convection have been studied with a laboratory model operated in the microgravity environment of Spacelab 3 that flew on the space shuttle Challenger in May 1985. This experiment studied thermally driven circulations within a rotating hemispherical shell of fluid across which ar...
متن کاملIntrinsic hierarchical structural imperfections in a natural ceramic of bivalve shell with distinctly graded properties
Despite the extensive investigation on the structure of natural biological materials, insufficient attention has been paid to the structural imperfections by which the mechanical properties of synthetic materials are dominated. In this study, the structure of bivalve Saxidomus purpuratus shell has been systematically characterized quantitatively on multiple length scales from millimeter to sub-...
